As a child I dreamed that maybe one day I would be able to fly. As it turns out, I'm terribly afraid of heights; but it didn't stop me from imagining the wonder that it would be to jump off my feet and take to the sky. This painting is meant to in some small way capture the ethereal feeling of complete freedom and happiness we experience when we are living our dreams, or just breezing through a day with that indescribably joy of being alive. I choose to represent those feelings in a whimsical, loose take on a blue bird in flight.
